Project Overview
The Community Calendar app empowers users to connect with local communities and seamlessly manage events within their area. With a focus on eliminating overlapping events, Community Calendar allows users to view and create events across both public and private communities based on their location. For example, a user in Sydney can quickly discover local communities, join, and participate in their events. The app’s intelligent scheduling feature minimizes conflicts, ensuring community members can engage in multiple events without schedule clashes. Through its location-based structure, Community Calendar fosters stronger community ties by encouraging participation in events that are nearby and relevant

Project Workflow
The design workflow began with researching existing community and event management applications to understand best practices for location-based engagement and scheduling. I conducted user interviews and surveys to identify pain points, such as overlapping events and difficulty discovering local communities. Based on these insights, I created user flows and low-fidelity wireframes to map event discovery, community joining, and conflict-free scheduling. After validating the flows, I developed high-fidelity UI designs with intuitive navigation, clear event details, and responsive layouts. The final design ensures users can easily discover, join, and participate in local events while minimizing scheduling conflicts and fostering stronger community connections.
